AMES – Aplington-Parkersburg faced off against Hudson in the District 1A State semifinals late Friday, June 12. 

The Falcon girls came into the match on an impressive hot streak, having not lost a game since April 30, including a conference championship win and state quarterfinals win. 

CLARKSVILLE – The Clarksville baseball team is off to a very slow start to the season.

As of June 15, the Indians are 3-7. Four of those losses came by more than 10 runs, with the largest loss coming from Baxter with a 16-point difference.

In the wins column, Clarksville’s largest point difference is six, with an 8-2 win over Rockford.

DIKE – On Monday, June 8, Dike-New Hartford baseball played at home against Columbus Catholic.

The Wolverines wasted no time, scoring four runs in the first inning, and nine in the second.

In that time, Junior Gavin Gerbracht had a game no one would easily forget.

JESUP – Dike-New Hartford softball played in the Jesup Tournament on June 12-13.

The Wolverines were one of 12 teams in the two-day tournament.

D-NH played their first round matchup on Friday against North Fayette Valley. The Wolverines scored 17 runs in the first three innings to end the game early at 17-3.

GREENE – Zoey Thompson garnered low-score honors three times last week and Amelia Thompson one, leading the North Butler girls golf team.

CEDAR FALLS – Nate Peters shot a four-over-par round of 76 Thursday, leading the Aplington-Parkersburg boys golf team to third place at the North Iowa Cedar League Tournament at the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.

      GREENE – The North Butler boys golf team had a busy week, playing in meets at Sheffield, Saint Ansgar and at its home course in Greene before playing in a Saturday tournament at Ha

LEGRAND – Chloe Paulsen won the long jump, 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, leading Dike-New Hartford to second place at the North Iowa Cedar League’s Girls’ Conference Meet last Thursday in LeGrand.

      APLINGTON – The Aplington-Parkersburg girls soccer team won for the fifth time in six games Friday, shutting out Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck 6-0 in Reinbeck.

TAMA – Brooke Bohler placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and anchored Clarksville’s third-place shuttle hurdle relay, lifting the Indians to 15^th place at the Iowa Star Conference Meet Thursday at the Meskwaki Settlement School.

TAMA – Dawson Barnett won the shot put and placed third in the discus Thursday, leading the Clarksville boys track and field team to ninth place in the Iowa Star Conference Meet at the Meskwaki Settlement School.

NASHUA – Ezra Almelien won the 1,600-meter run and Jack Bartels the 110-meter hurdles as the North Butler boys placed second at Nashua-Plainfield’s Cowpath Relays last Monday.

      NORTHWOOD – Freshman Camryn Bartels won three events and junior Ezra Almelien two as North Butler placed third at the Top of Iowa Conference Meet Thursday at Northwood-Kensett High School.

NASHUA – Cora Barnett won the 100-meter dash and anchored North Butler to victory in the 4 x 100-meter relay, leading the Bearcats to second place at Nashua-Plainfield’s Cowpath Relays last Monday.
