        CLARKSVILLE – The Clarksville School Board approved a contract for a new PK-12 principal during a special meeting April 28 at the superintendent’s office.

PARKERSBURG – The Aplington-Parkersburg School Board approved its Fiscal 2027 budget during its regular Board meeting April 20.

Butler County Fair plans Fair Buddies Goat Show

The Butler County Fair will host its annual Fair Buddies Goat Show Saturday, June 27 at 1 p.m. at the Show Arena. 

The show is for individuals with special needs, who will participate with the help of a 4-H member. Participants will show goats provided by local 4-H members while having assistance during the show. Goats will be led around the show arena and each participant will be awarded a trophy. 

North Butler hosts prom

Under the Sea was the theme Saturday as North Butler hosted its annual prom. The grand march was held at the high school while the prom was held at the Greene Community Center. After Prom was back at the high school.

Clarksville hosts Junior-Senior Prom

Clarksville High School hosted its annual prom Saturday night in Charles City. Prior to the event, couples were introduced to the public during a grand march at the high school gymnasium.

A-P sixth-graders to present ‘Super Interns Save the Day!’

The sixth graders of Aplington-Parkersburg are getting ready to perform their play “Super Interns Save the Day!” by Lavinia Roberts.  We have two casts performing this script back to back for each performance night.  We have 22 students participating this year.  

North Butler to discontinue three-year-old preschool program

GREENE – The North Butler Community School District will discontinue its three-year-old preschool program at the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year.

   The North Butler School Board approved the decision during its April meeting.
